Recognize a charge from us?
On your bank or credit card statement, our charge appears as:
SOLSCRIBE COMM SOLAR
That charge is your community solar subscription — the same program that puts a solar bill credit on your electric bill each month. Older statements may show Solscribe or Zia CS Services instead.
How the charge works. Your utility applies a solar bill credit to your electric account. Solscribe then bills you for those credits minus your subscriber discount, so the Solscribe charge is always smaller than the credit you received. If no credits were applied in a given month, there is no Solscribe charge that month.
Not sure it’s yours, or think something is wrong? Please contact us before disputing the charge with your bank — we can look up the account, explain the amount, correct a billing error, or issue a refund far faster than a card dispute can. Have your electric utility account number handy if you have it.

How Billing Works
Community solar in New Mexico works through two separate bills:
- Your electric bill comes from your utility (PNM, El Paso Electric, or Xcel/SPS) as it always has. Each month it includes a solar bill credit for your share of the energy produced by the community solar farm.
- Your Solscribe bill charges you for those credits minus your subscriber discount. Because the discount comes off the top, the Solscribe charge is always less than the credit that was applied to your electric bill.
The result is a net savings every month. If the solar farm produced nothing for your account in a given month, no credit is applied and you are not charged.
Charges are made to the payment method you placed on file when you enrolled. Nothing is installed at your home and there is no equipment to pay for.
Finding the Credit on Your Utility Bill
The solar bill credit appears as a separate line item on the bill from your electric utility — not on your Solscribe statement. Wording varies by utility, but it is generally shown as a community solar or solar bill credit that reduces the amount you owe.
A few things that surprise people:
- Credits apply to energy charges only. Fixed monthly service charges and taxes are not reduced.
- Credits follow the solar farm’s production and your utility’s billing cycle, so the amount changes month to month and is usually largest in the sunnier months.
- There is a lag between when energy is produced, when the utility posts the credit, and when Solscribe bills for it. Your Solscribe charge in a given month may correspond to a credit posted in an earlier utility cycle.
If you cannot find the credit on your electric bill, call or email us and we will walk through your bill with you.
Updating Your Payment Method
To change the card or bank account on file — a new card, an expired card, or switching between card and bank (ACH) — contact us at 505-300-2429 or care@solscribenm.com and we will send you a secure link to enter the new details yourself.
Please never send card numbers or bank account numbers by email or text. We will not ask you for them that way, and we will never ask for your full card number over the phone. If someone claiming to be from Solscribe asks you to do that, hang up and call us at the number above.
Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel at any time. There is no cancellation fee and no penalty.
To cancel, send written notice through My Account or email care@solscribenm.com or support@solscribenm.com — both reach our Customer Care team. Please include your name, service address, and utility account number.
Cancellation takes effect on the later of the date you request or the next utility billing cycle, subject to the notice periods required by New Mexico Public Regulation Commission Rule 17.9.573. You remain responsible for subscription charges that accrued before the cancellation takes effect, and your utility may post a final solar credit for energy already produced. Full terms are in Section 4 of our Terms of Service.
Moving or Closing an Account
If you are moving, let us know as early as you can. Depending on your new address and utility, you may be able to transfer your solar allocation to the new service address, or you can cancel at no cost. Either way there are no penalties or fees.
If your electric service has already been disconnected or transferred out of your name, contact us so we can stop billing and close out your subscription correctly.
About the Program
Solscribe is a community solar program established under the New Mexico Community Solar Act (Senate Bill 84, 2021) and regulated by the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC). Zia CS Services, LLC is the PRC-approved Subscription Manager. The Program Administrator for New Mexico community solar is InClime, Inc.
Subscribers must be customers of PNM, El Paso Electric, or Xcel/SPS in New Mexico. Nothing is installed on your property — you are allocated a share of the energy produced by a community solar farm elsewhere in the state.
Policies & Complaints
- Privacy Policy — what we collect and how we use it
- Terms of Service — billing, payments, and cancellation terms
- SMS Terms & Consent — text message programs and how to opt out
If we have not resolved your concern, you may escalate it to the Program Administrator, InClime, Inc., or to the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission. Contact details for both are published on our home page.
Community solar bill credits apply to energy charges only and are subject to your utility’s terms and conditions. Subscriber savings reflect a percentage of the Solar Bill Credit value as approved by the PRC for the applicable subscriber organization, not a flat percentage of total utility charges.
